Anthony Anderson’s Los Angeles Home Targeted in Weekend Break-In While Hosting Fundraiser
Actor Anthony Anderson, best known for his role on the hit series Black-ish, was the latest celebrity targeted in a string of burglaries hitting upscale neighborhoods across Los Angeles.
The break-in occurred over the weekend at Anderson’s primary residence in the Encino area, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The actor was not home at the time.
Instead, he was in Palm Springs hosting a fundraiser for his foundation, which raises money to support students attending Howard University—his alma mater.
Authorities say three individuals entered the property on Sunday night. As of now, it remains unclear whether anything was stolen. No arrests have been made.
Detectives investigating the incident note that these types of burglaries are typically carried out by crews who may not initially know the identity of the homeowner. However, by targeting large, luxurious residences, they often end up hitting the homes of celebrities.
The investigation into the burglary at Anderson’s home is ongoing.
This incident follows a pattern of high-profile break-ins throughout Los Angeles, highlighting ongoing concerns about residential security in areas known for their celebrity residents.
