Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna Calls on Gov. Newsom to Pardon Tory Lanez Amid New Evidence Claims

Body:Florida Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna is drawing national attention after publicly calling on California Governor Gavin Newsom to pardon Canadian rapper Tory Lanez, who is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence for the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion.

In a series of social media posts, Rep. Luna argued that Lanez’s trial was plagued by prosecutorial misconduct, political bias, and a disregard for due process. She pointed to the prosecution’s controversial use of Lanez’s rap lyrics as evidence and claimed that mitigating factors were ignored during trial proceedings.

“I am calling on Gov. Newsom @CAgovernor to review Tory Lanez’s case and issue a pardon,” Luna tweeted. “His 10-year sentence was based on flawed evidence, political pressure, and prosecutorial bias. Justice must be blind — not driven by headlines.”

Luna also promised that compelling new evidence would be released within 36 hours to support Lanez’s innocence. While the nature of the new evidence remains undisclosed, she mentioned that it includes updated forensic details and witness testimony that could potentially exonerate the artist.

Adding to the urgency, Lanez was reportedly stabbed multiple times in prison. Luna confirmed the incident on social media, noting that despite the attack, Lanez remains in good spirits.

Megan Thee Stallion, the victim in the case, has since responded. “FACTS ARE FACTS, he did it, it was PROVEN IN COURT,” she stated in response to Lanez’s supporters and Luna’s pardon appeal.

Governor Newsom has yet to issue any public response to the request.

As this case continues to evolve, the divide between public figures, fans, and legal experts grows deeper. Whether Rep. Luna’s efforts will lead to an official review or action from the governor remains to be seen.
