Night Out Turns to Chaos as Car Plows Into Crowd Outside East Hollywood Nightclub

What should’ve been a typical weekend night in East Hollywood quickly spiraled into a mass-casualty scene early Saturday morning, when a car crashed into a crowd of people just outside The Vermont Hollywood nightclub.
The incident happened around Santa Monica Boulevard near Vermont Avenue—an area known for its heavy foot traffic and buzzing nightlife. According to initial reports, the crash occurred just as clubgoers were spilling onto the street after a packed night at the venue.
Authorities say 30 people were injured in the collision, including 7 now listed in critical condition and another 6 in serious condition. The sudden impact forced emergency responders to transform the sidewalk into a makeshift triage zone, as paramedics struggled to stabilize the wounded amid the chaos.
No names have been released as of yet, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
The popular nightlife strip was shut down for hours as police combed through the scene, collecting evidence and trying to determine whether the act was intentional or a result of reckless driving. As the investigation continues, the city is left shaken by yet another tragedy on a stretch of road that sees thousands of partygoers every weekend.
